If I could get the retirement now, that I would get when I am 65, I would take it in a heartbeat. I like my job, it's what I went to college for, but there are many other things I enjoy doing that I can't get paid for. I'd prefer to do those for a while now that I've spent +15 years in my profession. I really want to travel more too. I can always work part time in my job for a year or a summer if I get the urge.

Absolutely! My job is killing me.. So much stress over things that don't matter in the big scope of life. I was actually crunching numbers this weekend. I'm not there...need 10 years but I'm socking away and funding my 401 k as much as possible.Comment

We have the means to retire now, but im choosing to work until my first grandchild is born. my husband wants to work until hes 50. i turned 40 this year and I try to change jobs every couple of years. its the same career field, software development, but changing environments and coworkers tend to revitalize me. i enjoy my work. My husband and i also now work in the same building, so we see each other a lot during the day now and go to the gym at lunch together. we both enjoy that quite a bit. he stops by and chats with me and we can ride to work together.Comment
