I did have to get upgrade my internet at home for my job so that off set the savings a month by a little bit but still I don't care I am just so happy to have a clean slate. Freedom from CC debt deserves celebration. Good on you for having a plan and sticking to it. It takes a lot of planning and thought to get through the upcoming holiday season but I'm confident you will avoid past mistakes.

I award you one fancy dinner made at home with candles, wine (already have) and nice music. Let it be simple pasta with butter and vegetables! Or bread brushed with olive oil and topped with cheese and spices! Open that weird jar of pickles and stick toothpicks in them! it will be great with sips of wine

That's the opposite approach as compared to my strategy. I first paid off all of the installment loans and lines of credit. I figured with those, I had to make a conscious effort to re-ignite them, but with credit cards, I only needed to pull them out to run the bill back up. Once I got rid of the loans, I then attacked the credit cards.

Not that the approach matters. As long as it works.

Congratulations on a valid and important accomplishment!

Congratulation!! Isn't it a great feeling! You may still get a statement (bill) from the credit card company (it was in my case) with the balance of zero!
Now make sure you stay out of credit card debt by working on your EF (as you mentioned) and enjoy your ET account will grow! Enjoy this moment and imagine your car payment will be done! It will be very soon!

Excellent job so far, you'll surely feel the load being taken off your shoulders the following months. Less stress, more money for you to direct to other payments and of course, no more money lost on interest.

Lots of people remain up to their eye-balls in debt

Congratulations! To be credit card debt free - is the place to be!

Unfortunately, most Americans have an average credit card debt of $15,159 . Even though that is down from 1.23% compared to last year, overall household debt has increased by 8.5% from last year.

Another trend is we less likely to talk about credit card debt. According to recent money survey,
85% are less likely to talk about being in credit card debt because of the stigma of being out of control.
