Our DKs had many different jobs and operated a small 'landscaping' business through high school pulling weeds, cutting grass and 'edging' sidewalks with a non-electric edger. They watered plants for neighbors who were on vacation and made sure each property stayed tidy. Community theatres hire kids to clean the 'house' between showings. Are you willing to be a responsible, reliable dog walker? [you have to clean up after dogs]. Fast food outlets hire high school aged teens for housekeeping chores washing floors, scraping gunk off seats, cleaning bathrms, trash and the really dirty, horrid chores. Mom & pop restaurants will hire teens as dishwashers which is really gross work. Check to make sure staff at that level are included in tip out.

In my personal experience, when I was still a studying I usually bring money that's enough for the whole day. Let say my allowance is 50 then I bring packed lunch so I don't need to buy expensive food at the canteen. I have to commute for 2 rides back and forth. That would be 12 (fare is 6). At lunch sometimes I buy soda (12) and viand (15). The total expenses for the day is 39. I already save 11. All you need is to spend your money wisely and it also helps you not to spend beyond what you have in hand.

When I was in college I usually rode my bike and took public transportation everywhere and stuck to 3 square meals a day that I cooked myself. It's amazing how much you can save when you don't have to pay for gas, auto insurance, parking fees and vehicle maintenance. It is equally amazing how much can be saved by not buying snacks and by cooking your own food. I cheated once in a while to save my sanity but overall I know I saved an easy $50 or more per month on food alone. The snacks (food and beverages) really add up if you're not careful. I also bought used text books and sold them back at the end of the semester whenever possible.

I also think the best way to save money with impulse items is to just not carry around the extra cash, atm, or credit cards - can't spend what you don't have.

Btw, have you looked at the monthly charges you will be facing if/when you get that smartphone? $50 to $70 per month isn't unheard of - be careful! It's the data charges that make the amount so large and sometimes just having a smartphone obligates you to paying for data, whether or not you use it.

See, you can definitely save money and there are so many ways of saving money daily. Some my tips are: cut down your daily expenses, shop less, don't eat outside, sell your unwanted things and most importantly Take up a money-saving hobby.

I'm not sure people got your question...or maybe I don't get it. I see it as you are asking whether you can get a smart-phone by saving a few dollars every day? The answer is yes! Slightly older model smart phones usually start around $50-$100 (some deals are available if you are a new customer, as low as $1!). So if you saved $2 per day every day for 50 days (ie, 3 months almost), you could buy a new phone. Then of course, the cost each month is high as well - around $80-100 depending on your plans. So you'd need to have another $3 a day every day to pay that bill.

So tips for saving? Get a piggy bank, open a free checking account (look around, they do exist), make an envelope labeled "NEW PHONE!" and put the money in there... it just takes discipline to not spend when you want to save for something bigger.

                Hi to all,

A few time I try to save dimes, but every time I collect some "nice" sum (~20$) for something I spend it all. I collecting for new mobile phone. I try to use jar or piggy-bank but that didn't help. A few day ago I seen site to give me opportunity to "hide" my money from myself. It's "trick" on paypal, I pay myself for some goals, if I understand.

I think this is very nice opportunity to save money for goal, especially if you student in different town, and don't live with parents, like me. Check this out, I singed in for beta. Waiting key. When I one time be in, if there be invitations I can send some students.

                Cheers !

                Oh, website is wishsavebuy.com
