Yep, I think there shouldn't be a cap personally. It would make SS solvent fast.

To me SS is more of a "wealth redistribution" ponzi scheme than a retirement program. Rich pay in more, get little out (and what is paid out is taxed), and poor put in little, get the same, maybe more out.

The solution first and foremost is fiscal discipline by the government (eliminate spending programs, IMO).

But that is way off topic to someone maxing their 401k out for the year.
