    It doesn't apply in my case. I pay my bill once a month, saving is bi-weekly just like income so nothing is technically extra. As for the deductions, etc... None of my paychecks escape that.

      This reminds me of my husband's paycheck scheme. He gets paid 10 months per year, but he could opt to have that spread over 12 months. Some of his colleagues opt to get their pay divided over the twelve months. They say they cannot budget to make it through two months without a check coming in. Funny, it is the same total money over a year regardless of when it is collected. The 12 monthers need someone to close the purse strings for them?

        A great many people live paycheck to paycheck. I have done it much of my life - sometimes out of unwise spending and sometimes for simple poverty. A failure to understand how people live that way isn't really all that constructive. I don't live check-to-check, but I do have my finances set around my pay schedule. I do that to maintain discipline - it's easier for me to make $60 of fun money last 2 weeks than to make $129 last all month. I just take it out of the ATM, and when the cash is gone, I am done until payday.
