  • Another SA baby on the way!!!

Sorry, I've been such a rare visitor here lately, but I've been busy at home and at work....so I am a tad late sharing the news here....

We're having a baby!!!! I am due May 6th, right around our first anniversary!!

It was planned to the day, and we are both excited and more than ready. Right now I am signing praises to AFLAC as long as the baby is born AFTER April 25th!!! Between all the extra policies I picked up in preparation (you have to have them 10 months before they cover pregnancy, so you have to get them BEFORE you get pregnant) I will pay out an additional $1K in premiun and reap $6K in cash payouts for a normal delievery!!! More if it's a C-section, complications, ICU, or anything like that. (Which I hope there isn't!) That's a net gain of about 5K!

Just so you know why we didn't wait very long....well I'm 32 already and we want a few kids, so we didn't want to press our luck (we are DONE when I am 40 I draw the line there) and we are in a pretty good situation right now, so we decided to take the plunge.

I guess there is something in the water!!!

                Congratulations.

I've got to keep my wife away from that SA water, though.

Congratulations! There must be something in the water (or airwaves) as I just found out we are expecting #2 on June 11. Pretty cool, but a little nerve wracking.

                  GL- enjoy your pregnancy!

On the AFLAC thing someone asked about....
I have a short term disability policy, I get 6 weeks paid out there
I have a wellness/illness policy - each time I go to the doctor (13 visits at least) I get $20.00, plus more for the deliver as it considered a sickness by policy definiation??? (I don't get it, but I'll take it)
I have a hospitalization policy - each day me, and baby spends in the hospital I get $200.00 a day I believe, I'd have to check the policy
I have an ICU policy, so if I or the baby end up in ICU I gett $600.00 a day for that.

Add it all up and minimum I get paid out $6K over the course of the pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Lots more if there are complications, bed rest, additional hospitalizations, C-sections, ICU time or anything like that, which I hope doesn't happen. Course I have to have my agent do lots of the paper work when the time comes, but hey that's what he's for...

                              lol....

Yeah, it was quick. We meet in September, where married in may, and now are expecting in may.....

But what a wonderful happy year it has been....we both are very happy and content with the way things have worked out.

We want to have 3-4 kids (taking it one at a time though) and we want to be finished by 40! Since I'm already 32 we don't have tons of time to debate it. Plus we are in a pretty good place as far as money goes.....basically there wasn't a reason NOT to start.
