  • Does deferred student loans affect credit score?

    Good morning everyone

I am about to start classes at a private university in my town to earn my teaching degree. After financial aid and everything, my out of pocket costs are still a couple of thousand a semester. I will receive the deferred subsidized student loans to pay it, and payments will start 6 months after I graduate (3-4 years from now).

Will having those deferred student loans on my record affect my score? If so, by how much? I've never had experience with student loans and it was my last resort (I had full scholarships in my previous college life ).

    Thanks,

i think any debt has an effect on your ability to get credit, lenders assess the risk of you not paying them back, to do this they take into account the debt you already have.
