It will be years or more likely decades before things are back to "normal". Hurricane Katrina was nearly 20 years ago and that area is still suffering. I'm sure areas devastated by last year's storms in North Carolina and elsewhere are nowhere near recovered. When entire neighborhoods or even entire towns are wiped out, you can't just put it all back together in a year or two. The story quickly drops out of the national news cycle but it remains very much an issue for the people affected indefinitely.Steve

* Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
* There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Absolutely devastating. The rains they got last week helped contain the rest of the fire, but not without additional losses from flooding and mudslides. Folks in that region just can't get a break.History will judge the complicit.
