    Interesting summary. I hadn't really thought about the broader effect of a strike. In my mind, it was a non-issue personally since I'm not an auto worker and we're not planning to buy a domestic car in the near future (or ever). This article explains why it does matter to everyone. Thanks for sharing it.

      I saw that. I hope it gets resolved quickly.

      I did see among the asks from the UAW, a 46% wage increase over 4 years, and a 32-hour work week. While the 46% increase is kind of shocking, it's not far from what UPS drivers received, and the UAW hasn't renegotiated their pay since 2019.

      GM/General Motors is importing quite a few vehicles from China and South Korea now to sell here in the US. A bunch of its full-size trucks are made in Mexico. I want the UAW to succeed and make cars domestically, but their corporate employers will insist on doing business cheaper globally.
      History will judge the complicit.
