How about more blog contests?

They died a slow death - as they went on, less and less bloggers were participating and a lot of bloggers where checking the contest button for posts that had nothing to do with the contest. We are more than happy to do them again, but would need all of your input to make it so that they are worthwhile for everyone involved.
princessperky sent me an email earlier this month with the following suggestions:
Not sure why you haven't been doing the blog contest, but if you decide to start up again, what do you think of doing more general themes?
January could be "Finance games" (good or bad ones folk play, or reviews of other games)
February- Financial romance (either how you afford romance, or your love/hate affair with money)
March -ABCs of finance (would be innteresting to see others list of 26..)
April - fossilized finances (skeletons in the finance closet?)
May - ecological finance (green greenbacks..)
June - Finance camps (which 'camp'/side do you belong too?)
July - H2oooh finances or liquid finances (assets or water conservation)
August - Sunny finances (outdoor savings, or optimism)
In case you wondered I pretty much stole these from the Cub scout themes..only added the word finance...(except February scouts don't do romance) Which means you could pretty easily make new ones next year when they come out with there new list.

I'd like to participate in the contests! Princess Perky has some good ones, but I'm also open to other topics. My other blog is Your Organized Friend.

What about an 'off topic' report for folk who tag something that isn't appropriate?
Or a requirement that you have to have an 'active' blog to enter?
say more than X months with more than X number of posts per month?
I don't know anything about coding so I have no idea if that is too difficult.
