Check out their product listing as I think their 9 month CD is a little higher.

True, but this is comparing a CD (locked-in) to a MMA (liquid). Not apples to apples.

Hey, this is a great thread, what about adding the FDIC info for all the banks. I know when first checking out a bank, esppecially newbies, will want to know that info.

At the bottom of the first post (in the edit explantion) is a statement which points out that all of these accounts are FDIC insured.

                  Update: 09/13/06

The summary post has been altered to include an 'A' list and a 'B' list.

List A is the original list, comprised of online MMA offerings ranked by APY that require less than $1,000 to open, earn interest, and avoid fees.

List B is new. These MMAs require a $1,000 minimum to open and/or earn interest and/or avoid fees. These list was created to accomodate certain offers such as E*TRADE's promotion, which has a $50 bonus and a promo rate of 5.28% APY (stated as 5.15% APR) and AmTrust's 5.26% APY, which requires $1,000 to open but thereafter has no minimum balance requirement.

Where do you get this information from? Their site still says 5.15% APY. I see that their bar-chart graphic utilizes 5.25% APY in the illustration. Is that what you're going by? The terms and conditions state, "Balances from $1.00 to $250,000 receive a rate of 5.03% with an APY of 5.15%"

Amboy has sent out an e-mail detailing this increase. The previous poster is correct, Amboy has moved the Premium MMA account rate up from 5.15% APY to 5.25% APY.
