I know it's none of my business, but I'm curious how old you are. I'm going to be in Dalton, GA later this week. For a cold glass of lemonade, I would be happy to stop by and show you how to use your computer if you're anywhere in the vicinity. But, you'll have to buy the ink and paper. Unless you have a relatively new printer, you should probably expect a case of sticker shock when you purchase the ink. I hate to see anyone miss out on banking in the 21st century because they're afraid of their PC.

What a nice thing to do. My last job was in 1980 and we did not have a computer there. When I moved here, the only job I could get was a waitress job, so that is what I did for a living for a while. My husband has never used a computer either. He bought me one for christmas a year and a half ago and I know nothing about it. (I am over 60) But Dalton is too far away, I am up in the mountains in Blairsville, by the N.C. line. Thanks anyway!!

I am bringing this back to the top for Jamreed to look at. These banks are good places for an emergency fund.

Thanks Sweeps! I made the update to include Apple Bank and will watch for the Emigrant change in the near future.

Wow. I was impressed with Apple Bank's 5.15 and then I saw that OneUnited has raised their rate to 5.25 APY!

                          Very cool.

I hope some of the others follow suit and cross over the 5% mark and upward!

Please note that OneUnited only compounds and adds interest QUARTERLY, as opposed to AppleBank which compounds daily and adds interest monthly...so you will earn more interest at Apple's 5.15% than you will at OneUnited's 5.25%!

The 5.15% and 5.25% figures are the annual percentage yield, correct? If so, then the effects of compounding have already been factored in (assuming you hold the investment for a year).
