I have a savings account there as well. I've got a monthly direct transfer to it for savings. Then when I need it, I can go in and request an external transfer to my regular bank. It usually takes place within a day - 2 at the most. It's a good place to keep liquid assets to earn more interest than your normal savings rates...
And it's paying more than some of my CDs

Re: Capital One paying 4.75% APY
I saw this the other day. What’s nice, is they have both the “High Yield Money Market” account, which has no minimums and allows EFTs to and from a linked checking account, or the old-fashioned “Money Market” account, which has a $100 minimum, and has an affiliated ATM card and allows some checkwriting. Both earn the same $4.75%.

Re: Capital One paying 4.75% APY
I have a private matter question regarding opening up an account at Capital One. I have yet to open the account and I am VERY sensitive to what my bank statement will show.
I want to know exactly what my personal bank statement says when I transfer money from my bank to Capital One.
I don't care what it says on my Capital One statement, it's my other bank statement that I care about.
Does it say something different when I open the account (when they check to see if I have a valid account) vs. when I move $1000 from my bank to capital one?
Thanks for the help.
