  • Calculating cost basis on a mutual fund

We own two mutual funds that we have had since the early 90s, long before they were required to track cost basis for you. We've reinvested dividends and capital gains for nearly 20 years. What exactly do I do to calculate our cost basis? I have every statement since day one so I have all relevant data. It's just a matter of sitting down and crunching all of the numbers.

I was having trouble logging in to the one account but finally got in today on a different browser. Turns out they do have our cost basis info.

I don't think I can get it for the other fund (different company) but I have to check.
