I have absolutely no idea. I don't look at my portfolio daily. I used to check it monthly. Now I maybe check every 2-3 months.

the one I remember is GOOG and GOOGL, about a year ago.

Each jumped upwards of $90/share on July 17... so that was about $1500 in one day for me.

My initial investment was $3000, stock split, then that 1500 jump.

today's market value might be $200 higher for me compared to that day.

        Enjoy!

I don't know. I don't look at it everyday, but recently it did jump about $3500. Not sure if that is the most it's ever gone up. Probably not, but who knows.

Unless you are waiting to pull the trigger on a sale, I'm not sure what purpose that serves. Do watch it just as closely when the price of gold is falling?

I like to record when my portfolio is at a new high, so when the market is doing well I typically check daily (work days). When the market is not doing so well, I typically check the first of the month to see where the balances are at.

Monthly for my net worth update. In fact, my stock investments (VDIGX and VFIAX) went up about 1% in June, even with the Brexit turmoil.

Why not set an automatic sell order at the price point you desire?

                    low 20's

                      Silver?

it is 1 drawback with holding physical, yes silver, you cant put in buy or sell orders so it does come down to a bit if planning and timing - then i gotta haul it down to the buyer weighing around 40# per 500oz

$96,000. I fully funded our IRA's ($12k) and put $84k of my bonus into a taxable brokerage account.

That doesn't sound good. How long have you been holding large quantities of precious metals?
