I've got 10k in Star Fund. Thinking about adding another 10k and was wondering about switching from Star Fund to Wellington and then putting the other 10k in the Vanguard Total Stock Index. I'm mid-thirties. Should just put everything in VTSMX? I've been happy with Vanguard and like their funds. Also, currently Star is in Roth IRA.

How do you feel about index funds versus actively managed funds? You're in an actively managed fund now. If you're comfortable with that, and with a 60/40 asset allocation, then just stick with what you have. If you prefer index funds, or a different active strategy, or a different asset allocation plan, then you need to make some changes.

Just make it easy on yourself with the vanguard 3 fund portfolio.
Ive been funding the vanguard total stock index for the most part, although I also have the bond and international funds too. Im in early 30's so im taking a more aggressive approach for now.
