  • Just got a text from a close friend

A screenshot of his bank account. $375,000. Just 2 years ago, he was unemployed and I was sending him money for food, rent etc. We grew up together, so not weird at all that he sent me the screenshot. It was a friendly rub-it-in type of message. He apparently bought litecoins 3 months ago. He put all of his non-retirement savings into it. They went up 1000% in just 3 months!

I asked what he was going to do with the money thinking that I could maybe give him some good suggestions. He's moving to Manhattan next month. I have a feeling that it won't be too long before he asks me for money again.

How much of the money you sent him has he repaid?

^what DS said! If he doesnt repay you any or all of the money you supplied him...Im not sure if I would use the term "friend" again.

Hope he repay you back unless he thought it was a gift that would suck. I thought about investing in bit coin and lite coin before too, but right now it is too speculative to invest in it. I am still debating though.

Yeah, every penny of it, he repaid as soon as he got a job. He offered interest on the money but I declined.

            "Moving to Manhattan next month."

Makes me feel uneasy. Tell him to sign up to this forum and ask for suggestions.

At least you got paid back and you declined the interest. Good friend.

That rarely happens. Super high risk high return.

I'd be happy for him and just text back "awesome! next dinner is on you "

Congrats to your friend. But I would advise him not to make a habit of investing every penny that he has into high risk stocks.
