  • Rollover IRA

I have a Rollover IRA in a T Rowe Price Retirement date 2050 Fund that i moved from a 401k after i got laid off. It has about $1,300 in it.

I have plans on opening a roth ira and wil lbe able to contribute ot my works 401k in January.

I wanted to see if i should leave the rollover ira where it is or move it somewhere?

Do you mean move to a different custodian, a different investment, or a different use altogether?

My preference is index funds, but the T. Rowe Price TR funds are pretty good.

Since the money is already set aside for retirement, I think you should leave it for retirement. If your income is lower than usual this year (due to your layoff), it may make sense to convert it to a Roth. That kind of decision is best made after looking at your entire financial picture.

I was debating on moving to a different custodian like Vanguard or fidelity or just keeping it where it is. It seems to be performing pretty well. The expense ratio is much higher than index funds but it is an actively managed fund.

i probaly wont contribute much to it since i am going to be taking part in my companies 401k starting in January. so that rollover IRA will mainly be sitting there. Wasnt sure if i should leave it where it is or move it somewhere.

I thought of moving it to a roth but wasn sure how bad that would hurt me tax wise or if it was wise to keep it as a rollover ira to put future 401ks.

My income at my new job is the same as my old job and i already got a job. i am almost fully back on track.
