  • Cheaper Personal Check Ordering

I need buy some new personal check. My bank, US Bank charges around $25-30 for a set of checks. I believe they give me four packets of check books for that price.

I was looking into ordering some checkbooks online, but I weary of providing my personal banking information over the internet, ie-routing number, account number, address, etc. Does anyone have any experience ordering online or from another source?

I ordered checks from Current for decades, beginning in the mid 80s, never had any trouble whatsoever. I don't anymore, because I get them free now.

I've ordered online or by mail my whole life. Buying from the banks is a ripoff.

Current, Checks Unlimited and WalMart are all popular and safe sources.

I still get mine from my bank. I'm sure it's cheaper to go elsewhere, but I hardly ever right a check. I pay everything online. I might order checks once every 2 years, so I don't really worry about saving a few bucks on them.

I've always gotten my checks online, never any problems... My bank gives me free, basic-design checks, which are just fine for me since I rarely use them anyway (maybe 1-2 each month)... So I never go through more than one (maybe 2) sets of checks before I move and have to reorder them anyway. A box of checks normally has 4 or 5 sets in them... never use them, so I end up shredding whole books of them.

Walmart is about the cheapest I have found right now, much cheaper than the bank.

I used Costco this time and got great results. Cost was cheaper that Sam's Club and delivery was faster.

I use Checks Unlimited and never had a problem. I too only order maybe once every couple of years and they are usually doing free shipping and buy 3 boxes and get 1 free. I haven't used my bank in several years.

You might consider a bank that provides free checks. I've used USAA for a while now. Absolutely no fees, and free checks and mail in deposit envelopes. Their customer service is great too. I wish I were getting a commission for all the times I've recommended them; but they really are excellent.
Banks like BOA and Wells Fargo that charge monthly fees? I'd never use them in a million years.
