When looking for dividend yielding stocks, don't pick ones that simply have a high yield. Pick one's that have a good history of paying out their dividends AND a good history of raising their dividends.

Some simple internet searching will yield you countless websites dedicated to dividend yielding stocks and funds.

Question #1: Since you are so new to investing, how do you know that dividends are the way to go? Why do you want a high dividend return?

Question #2: say you found a company with a good dividend yield - how would you know whether it's a good investment for you or not?

If you just want to find a high dividend yield, use a stock screener like this one: Google Finance: Find top stocks with our stock screener and search for dividends.

But all that will tell you is if it is paying a high dividend. It won't tell you if it's a good investment for you or not.

The best investment a novice investor can usually make is actually.... paying down their credit cards! Why search for an 8% dividend yield when you're being charged 19% on your card?? Pay down your debt and you'll get a great return on investment.

P.S. - you're going overkill with the capital letters. ALL THOSE CAPS MAKE IT SEEM LIKE YOU'RE SCREAMING EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT. (see )

Key question here is - why do you want the dividend payouts? What is your risk tolerance with the money you're looking to invest? These kinds of questions will help us answer your question, even if you are kinda screaming it.
