Does anyone know of or is a member to a helpful and informative forum about stock trading and other related trading? Ive learned a ton from the folks here bout how to save properly but i had some questions i wanted to check out about the other side of the fence of finance. Any suggestions about good forums would be greatly appreciated

Beware the dark side of investing. Many Padawans armed with little knowledge, these social forums are.

But that's also coming from a guy who admits that he's not an expert with stocks, nor does he do a good Yoda impression.

If you're willing to wade into the mess, Motley Fool, SocialPicks, and Investopedia all have a community of sorts. Perhaps they can lead to what you're looking for.

I would be wary of diving in head first in stock investing. I speak from experience. It usually looks a lot easier than it is.

Perhaps, try to set aside a % of your money for investing and buy mutual funds and the other % you can invest on your own and do some comparison after a time period.

I agree with bankaround. Not as easy as it looks, especially in the current economic climate.

But then, I prefer to look at this as a good learning experience. You know, if you can handle the current volatility and the difficult terrain, you should be good to go in most other times.

That and I also mitigate the risk by using only a small percentage of money for trading. Most of it is in a set aside in a set diversified mutual funds.

Speaking of which, please don't go into stock trading thinking that you're going to make a quick buck. Strategically, that sets you up for failure as you focus on the potential gains but not necessarily consider the risks that are involved. Instead, I recommend to go in with the mindset of accepting and managing the risks.

If you want to trade stocks, take the money from your entertainment budget, not your savings budget. I consider money spent on individual stocks to be the same as the money I take to the casino. I do it because I have fun in the process. If I make money, great. If not, that's okay too, because this is money I can live without.
