I have 2 accounts with ING but we moved all the money to one account because we thought we would earn more interest if all the money was lumped together- since bigger sums earn more interest. Is this true or are we crazy?

Sorry, doesn't work that way. That would only work if it were a tiered account. ING is not.
I have two accounts with ING, checking & savings. I like them, but they aren't my favorites. The fact that they don't issue paper checks with their electric orange account, and deduct the money from your account immediately upon issuing a check from their site, pisses me off.
Having said that, as a company, I think ING is great.
