  • anyone using an Electric Orange checking acct?

I just ordered checks from my B&M and I plan on keeping it for things that I need a immediate check for. But I was considering opening an electric orange acct for the regular bills. In part to earn intrest but also b/c the increase in stamp bothers me.

Has anyone used this, I know it's new to ING. Any opinions good or bad?

I opened my Orange Electric account about a month ago. So far I like it very much. I sent a paper check (via the website) and it showed up to that person within three business days. I also have used the debit card a couple times as a POS, and have had no troubles.

With it, I am now able to keep my buffer in one of the savings accounts where it is earning good interest, and then transfer it to my checking account each month where it will continue earning interest.

Ditto what she said, opened a month ago, love the send paper check, we use it alot more than I thought we would.

The auto bill pay and such is fairly simple, only thing a bit hard sometimes you have to have a phone number, I couldn't pay my HOA (lousy HOA they don't want to hear from homeowners...) But I could send an old fashioned check from my other account, and did.

I just opened an account over the weekend. I'm anxious to put it to use and see how I like it.

Ive had the orange checking account for some time now and I think its great, love the free bill pay , love the fast transfers between the checking account and savings account. The only thing i wish they would do is have unlimited atm refunds. etrade has that on theirs (with restrictions) and td banknorth has it on their checking accounts (no interest).

I'm very interested in opening one up for my multi family account. My only concern was the delay on transfer money. The ING saving has a 5 day hold but from what i read the electric orange is only about 2 days for transfers. Did i read that right???

Yes, I believe that is right. I opened my account on Monday and the money is there and available today.

I use direct deposit for my paychecks and it goes in right away.

I'm considering opening one. It seems like it would transfer quickly from your orange savings into orange checking right?

I've had mine 4 months. I like it a lot. I haven't had a problem with the lack of checks. My only problem has been that one of my charge cards wouldn't accept the ING routing #, so I had to pay that bill through ING rather than on their website.

I've had one for 5 years, and it's been fantastic.

How could you have this for 5 years. It was my understanding that the checking account is new?

I think he meant 5 months.
