I've been reading that Amboy is offering 5.25%. Is the account just like ING and Emigrant where all you need is $1 to start it? Is there anything special I need to know about opening the account?

I helped set up an Amboy account for my parents and they love it. Easy to set up and use.

(+) Fast transfers, great rate, very good customer service, can execute transactions by automated phone service as well as online

(-) Not much in the way of 'bells and whistles', plain interface, can only link one external account

Overall, I think it is a great place to open an account. I actually like the simple interface. Very neat.
