ING Direct vs others

Hi,

I'm fairly new to this site and this might be a typical topic. I'm interested in what is the best investment option is available out here in Canada. So far I've seen ING direct to be with the highest interest may it be GICs(4.5% for 5 yrs) or saving account (3.35%). I've noticed that ING is available in many countries and so far USA branch has the best offer with $25 free for just signing up and maybe a higher rate than what we have here in Canada. Why is that?

I don't know all the particulars and variances that might exist for Canadian account holders at each source, however, I would say that in the battle of ING vs others that the 'others' win easily. ING is no longer competing, so it seems, for your business.
