Open enrollment for 2024 health insurance starts today. For the first time, I'll be shopping for coverage. We're currently on COBRA. We can stick with that until 3/1/24 but my plan is to change to an ACA plan on 1/1/24. ACA will be considerably cheaper. The deadline to sign up is 12/15/23 for coverage to start 1/1/24. I'm just waiting to hear back from our CPA with what income figure I should use on the application.

I'm estimating that we'll save around $800/month but it could be more than that depending on our actual 2024 income, which of course I won't know until the end of 2024. In any case, it will be nice to have more affordable coverage again.

Yep, we've got an appointment scheduled in December to get this taken care of.
We have a local outfit that takes care of ACA insurance, medicare supplements and all that kind of stuff.

I'd be real cautious about trying to do it yourself online as you will be bombarded with non stop phone calls, texts and emails trying to sell you insurance.
