  • Gift Card Scams?

I read this unexplained statement on another website.

"If you don't want to be part of laundering money or shop lifting scams don't accept gift cards from people you don't know and don't "buy" them on auction sites."

    Can anyone elucidate?

    Re: Gift Card Scams?

I just recently sold one giftcard on ebay, and I am not doing any scam. I got this giftcard for the items I returned, and because I lost my receipt, they gave me a giftcard instead. Some people could also be selling giftcards because they got them as gifts, and don't shop at that store. So it's not always scam. But I guess, it could be.

I got a gift card to a framing store and there is nothing I want. I would love to sell it for less than the worth of the card!
