I hope you went for it and it was amazing.

I think the most we've spent has been at a Farm to Table restaurant and it was close to $175. Granted, we live in Central Illinois so the cost of living isn't as much as many other places, like big cities and coastal cities, but pricey. But it was Valentine's Day, the food was amazing, and it was a treat.

Just had to add this...when we were on an Alaskan Cruise last summer, we did most of the trip on the ship, but did spend a few days doing some things on land after the cruise. DH wanted to stay around Denali and the trip was planned as part of the deal. We stayed at this one hotel that had a breakfast buffet. It wasn't anything special...pastries, scrambled eggs, bacon, coffee, and juice...$75 before tax.

It's not the most expensive meals we've had by a long shot ... but my family is currently in Hawaii for a conference DW & I are attending --- woof, it's expensive here!!! $15-$20 per person for just a nothing-fancy (but non-chain/fast-food) sub sandwich or hambuger is eye-popping for us, relative to spending $6-$8 per person in Japan!!!

That’s normal pricing here in NJ. If DW and I go out for a simple lunch it’s at least $35-40.

          * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
          * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
          * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Disneysteve is right. L & L BBQ has locations in Hawaii & Los Angeles and these are the current prices. L & L originated in Hawaii and spread to California, Las Vegas, Arizona, and beyond. If still in Hawaii try Zippy's, Liliha bakery, L & L, Ala Moana food court, Chinatown has good Asian restaurants, etc. I'm going in June and looking forward to the various cuisines.
