    Definitely not.

It feels very wrong that he has one tbh.

It is definitely difficult to wrap my head around. Can anyone start a crypto currency based on on what? (Do you have to have collateral of any kind)? Could I make a Like2plan crypto currency?

This is the problem with crypto.
It's based on thin air and speculation.

I personally do not care for any crypto, but I'm curious....

Lol, about as good as that's girls career.

Im so out of the loop on crypto currencies. I actually didn't know about the hawk tuah one until a week ago, and no, I didn't invest in that. Never heard of the trump one until it was mentioned in here. They're all so strange. They're about as dumb as those NFT things. I still have no idea what that crap is. Strange stuff.

Also, how does one even go about starting a crypto? There was a video of some young kid that started a crypto. He filmed himself pumping and dumping. I think he made 10s of thousands of dollars. Of course, he's probably going to be in trouble.

Nah - its not clear how it makes money. You can't just issue a currency and assume its going to be worth anything. It has to serve an economic purpose.

You guys are focused on the micro, focus on the macro (centrailized fiat currency vs decentralized cryptos).

Agreed. Also consumes a lot of resources to "mine" and seems that one of its main purposes is to fund illegal activities. And, as such, I'm quite certain that the US gov't (as well as others) is working to identify ways to track transactions (e.g., colonial pipeline ransomware attack - at least part of the payment was recovered from the hackers).

Why does it feel wrong? He has as much of a right to buy into a company that makes crypto as you or I.

If you wanted, you too could start a JennBit currency and put it out there for the world market.

I wouldn't call it a scam. Even calling it a joke or scheme is a bit of a stretch. It's a novelty.

It's no different than buying those 1 oz commemorative coins, or pet rocks, or land on the moon.

Coinmarketcap.com currently has 10,700 different cryptos listed. This is just one more to the pile. If anyone puts their life savings into TRUMPcoin or any other crypto, they should be educated enough to understand the risk if it tanks (and the potential reward if it x10,000!).

For starters, this. I’d prefer our public officials not capitalize and make a novelty of their personality and position. (Yes, technically he wasn’t in office when the meme coin launched but we were close enough at this point.)

Would it be wrong if Saudi Arabia wanted to gift Mr. Trump $40 million dollars by purchasing his coin in return for access to US policy making, or top secret data? Because that's what this enables.

                              No.

Also I believe it is President, not Mr.
