I fail to understand why people insist on continually throwing mud.
If I make a reply to this sort of nonsense then people are going to throw there hands in the air and say the post got political and the thread gets locked.

Folks, let's stick to discussing POLICY, not POLITICS. I've edited the posts.Steve

* Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
* There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Next time, I can leave the humorous comments out, but I think my point still firmly stands that the incoming "president" really doesn't have fiscal policy. If his prior 4 years in office are any indication, the fiscal policy and fiscal health of our nation follows whatever he decides to tweet that day. And that's not funny, it's true.History will judge the complicit.

I agree with you on policy. The next administration will be horrible for the economy and wreck the great position that the current administration has built. Tariffs, trade wars, border closures, further attempts to dismantle the ACA, non-belief in science, and more will all be awful for the economy and the country in general. In 4 years we will all be way worse off, as we were after his first term. It’s going to be a long 4 years.Steve

The problem I foresee of trying to tightly restrict the common avenues of entry into the US is that desperate people will always find a way ... But those other ways often tend to be more dangerous, more costly, and less controllable (for both the individuals & the USG).
I'm not an expert on human migration or immigration, so I won't pretend to know the best answer here. But there's going to be a costly toll on state/federal/private resources (as well as a human/family toll) regardless of what any political administration tries to do.

Yea, probably not... I fail to see how any of us save money when food and the price of all our goods skyrockets due to deporting immigrant labor and all these supposed tariffs that are going to make America great again. Mexico might look like a nice place to live by then. Or, that could all be wrong. Bookmarking this one to check in next year.History will judge the complicit.

Proposed policies by the next administration, if enacted, will cost taxpayers way more money and balloon the debt. The great economy and responsible government spending will be a distant memory soon I fear.Steve
