My advice is enjoy gas while it is as cheap as it is, because it is as cheap as it is ever going to be.
Sounds like a good time to start moving to EV's and trying to diversify our energy sources.

    Oh, wait...

Soft Bank's Masayoshi Son is investing $100 billion. This is the direction we want to go in. Not giving out freebies which we all have to pay for one way or another. As the old saying goes don't kill the goose that lays the golden eggs.

I go to Mexico often and use the San Ysidro crossing which has a Ped-west & Ped-east (Pedestrian crossing). Ped west is used for mass immigrants using the app to come into USA. Ped east then gets over run with citizens such as myself returning to USA with wait times of 3 hours to 5 hours, unless possessing a Sentri card or Global access card. Not sure how allowing millions of immigrants who'll drain our social services budgets will eventually save us money.

QMM - how do you know they are using the app? Do you see them looking at their phones?

QMM - Who do you propose fill all of the jobs that those immigrants are currently filling? Farm workers. Hospitality industry like hotels and restaurants. Construction crews and more. If you think groceries and houses are expensive now wait until you close the border and then see what happens to prices.

There is a program called H-1B visa through the US Dept of Labor which specifically hires farm workers for that purpose. They pursue the American dream but reality is they'll gravitate towards welfare. Case in point my apartment complex where I've lived for 20 years. Majority of the legal immigrants are welfare moms with 2 or 3 or more offsprings that I've never seen work a day in their lives. Their offspring are now adults having kids of their own repeating the cycle. One woman gave birth just out of HS with no job. She recently gave birth to a 2nd kid. I'm sure some are hard workers and pursue prosperity and financial security but the majority will take the easy route and collect welfare and scrape by the rest of their lives for meager welfare and food stamps (EBT now) which should be for let's say a paraplegic and not for these able-bodied welfare moms, Jesus.

A dozen Kroger eggs $7.99. Textbook definition of a bad economy. I needed eggs so I paid the $7.99. A black woman complained to me that this is insane, I agreed 100%.

That’s due to the avian flu epidemic.

That’s also nearly double the price here. A dozen at Wegmans is currently $4.29. An 18-pack is $6.43.

There's at least one big lawsuit over allegations the impact of the avian flu pandemics was misrepresented in price increases and egg producers were basically using it as an excuse to price-gouge. I still believe bird flu still has a measurable impact.

Of course, this requires believing that avian flu isn't another made-up pandemic by the government in a last-ditch attempt to keep people locked in their basements. To be clear, I don't believe that's what this is. Science is real.

But, you know what? Let eggs get expensive. Send all the laborers back to Mexico and let people feel the stupidity of their own actions. Let it nail them in the pocketbook, and if immigrants are stealing "their jobs", then let them get their hands dirty collecting eggs and picking fruit. Be my guest, get out there and do some real work.
