Fatty liver increased my LTC annual premium from $2200 a year to $2700 a year. Anyone know what fatty liver is and more importantly how I can reduce or eliminate it?

Wow. What kind of testing did they do for this insurance? Fatty liver diagnosis requires imaging like ultrasound, CT, or MRI. I’m surprised they did that for an LTC application.

I only gave them my PCP's name, address, and phone number. On that letter it says they used a Milliman Medica database whatever that is. The only time I got a CT scan was in 2023 when I broke my collar bone. Or maybe around 2013, I got an MRI. Never did I get an ultrasound.

They may just be going based on blood work though that only suggests it. It’s not a firm diagnosis. Abnormal liver functions and abnormal lipids can point in that direction. If you’re obese and/or diabetic that also increases the risk.
