  • Switch mobile plan for free money?

Back in 2011 after college, I started a plan with T-Mobile because it was the only carrier willing to give me one when I had no credit score at all.

Fast forward to 2017, I'm still with them. Right now, we are paying $100/month for 2 lines with unlimited data, talk and text. I never had any problems with them at all.

Today, I got an offer from sprint from the mail. If I switch to them, they will give me $250. It will be the same cost of $100/month for 2 lines with unlimited data, talk and text.

I never had any experience with other carrier, specifically with Sprint. Not sure about their signal and reliablity and customer service.

    Should I switch?

Actually, I pay $100/month with T-Mobile and that's including everything, taxes and fees.

With Sprint, according to their website **Monthly charges exclude taxes & Sprint Surcharges [incl. USF charge of up to 18.8% (varies quarterly), up to $2.50 Admin. & 40¢ Reg. /line/mo & fees by area (approx. 5–25%)]. Surcharges are not taxes.

Also credit approval is required that means they will hard inquire my credit.

Money will take forever too - New acct. must remain active & in good standing for 31 days to receive Prepaid Card. Allow 8–10 wks. for delivery

Btw, if it makes any difference, we're in Los Angeles and we own our both phone fully paid off.

doesn't seem like it is worth it.

I was going to suggest Virgin Mobile (uses the Sprint network), until you said you already have paid for phones. but maybe you can bring them over. worth checking out if you are serious about switching.

My wife and I have them; we each pay $34 per month (that's it). unlimited plans are $50/month so not much savings there if you really need that one.

Are your phones compatible with Sprint? If they are anything like Verizon, taxes and fees are significant. They add about 30% to our bill, but IL loves to tax people. Can you tell T-Mobile about the offer and ask for a discount?

I don't think you'll be able to bring your phones to Sprint. I believe T-Mobile works on the GSM network and Sprint uses CDMA, which means you would need new phones!
