  • 72% Discount on Amazon Prime

While trying to cut down our grocery bills, came across great app called Ibotta. If you sign up for Amazon Prime via the app, they give you $20 gift card. That's a 20% discount ($79) off standard price ($99).

I then used a $50 Amazon gift card I had previously earned for a Healthcare survey, so that resulted in a total of $29 for a year of Amazon Prime.

As an added bonus, my Discover card is offering 5% cashback on all Amazon purchases through the end of the year, so also getting $1.45 back for purchases. Also, the Ibotta app offers additional cashback discounts for purchasing certain items from Amazon (e.g. 3% for Amazon Beauty, 5% for Amazon Home Services, 5% for Amazon Pet Supplies, etc..)

So in total, got 72% discount off Prime. The $27.55 I paid for membership will be worth our holiday gift shipping alone!

We love Amazon Prime. The fact that we can order something and often have it the next day or the 2nd day at the slowest is great. It saves a lot of trips to the store plus Amazon's prices are almost always better anyway.

Not to be nitpicky but the $50 gift card you used wasn't free. You worked for that. My wife always tries to pull that when she buys something with a gift card I earned doing a survey. She says the item was "free" but if I spent 30 minutes doing a survey to earn it, then it wasn't really free.
