  • Writing a Story for Money

One way I found to make a little bit of extra money, has been by being involved in a writing community and a few people have asked for a custom scenario.
An example is one man asked for a comedy/funny short story where a guy (himself) watches a lady martial artist use a pair of large guys in a demonstration. Weird, a bit, but it pays.

That's interesting. Would you mind sharing how much you make for that sort of thing? Is it based on the length of the finished work? This is kind of the thing that Fiverr is used for I think. Now ChatGPT is probably going to take over a lot of that sort of work.

The other day, a friend of mine asked ChatGPT to write a letter to his representatives to combat anti-transgender legislation. The result was excellent. He sent it exactly as written. I would have had no clue that it wasn't written by a human had he not told us. It's actually a bit scary how good it was.

    * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
    * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

For this particular one, I was paid $50

Nice. How long would you estimate it took you? How did you determine the rate?

rate was probably predetermined by the party who requested it.
I've seen these platforms where free lance writers can bid for work.
The rates are all over the map, usually determined by length or complexity

I had looked at Fiverr in the past to possibly do some editing work but prices were all over and what many were charging was ridiculously low. I wasn’t going to waste my time for those prices.
