  • Google reigns supreme! Project fi

My wife has been using project fi for cell phone service for around 1.5 years. Couple days ago her nexus 5x that she purchased from google died. Well it got hung in this continuous loop...would never boot fully...tried wiping, no dice.

Anyway...she reached out to google via chat...was able to chat with someone within 3 minutes. They overnighted her a new phone...simple swap of sim card and shes back in business. We had to send the old one/broke one back so we wouldnt get charged for the replacement.

Now the phone was out of warranty which the rep stated yet they were happy enough to send a new phone free of charge. Now thats service.

Whens the last time you heard of att, verizon, sprint, etc sending a consumer a replacement device when its out of warranty?

The service isnt quite as good as my work phone (att) but the customer service is far superior. Nothing but good to say about the entire experience.

I personally love Project Fi, and hope they succeed as a provider (re-seller technically).

I think this has been mentioned here before, but Project Fi uses the T-Mobile, Sprint, and I think Alcatel towers? So the coverage to your phone will depend on how good your coverage is to these networks where you are.
