  • Single parent lurkers

There are 24 hours in a day for you to place emphasis on the income side of equation.

After working all day, you should drag your child around in the car as you make an extra $25k as an Uber driver.

Saving money is much easier when you make more of it.

Are you asking a question here?

Yes, it's easier to save money when you earn more. That's why when people post that they're having financial difficulty, one of the first responses they get is to find ways to boost income.

Obviously, driving for Uber isn't an option if you're a single parent with no childcare, but there are plenty of other ways to earn money that can be done with a child to take care of. You just need to find the ways that work for you.

I'm currently following an entrepreneur on YouTube that earns 40K a month via social media and using Amazon to drop ship. All from the comfort of his home.

You need to change your mindset of how to earn money. Leveraged income is different than earned income.

Nah. I'm not greedy. An extra $25k/year shuttling drunk yuppies around with my daughter with me sounds great.

I don't know a lot about Uber but according to their website, most Uber drivers earn about $19/hour. That's not bad for a part time gig you can do pretty much anytime you want to. You'd have to drive for 25 hours/week to make 25K/year, though (although that $19 probably doesn't include tips). If you're looking to earn that kind of money working part time, you'll need something more lucrative.

just curious, does 25k/year include depreciation and wear and tear on vehicle? additional commercial insurance, etc? seems high to be honest unless working quite a few hours during peak times (weekends)

Uber provides insurance. And I think they cover damage caused by a customer.

My wife saves a ton of money every time she shops. She always tells me how much she saved, so I think she's doing a better job saving than me.

No need to keep selling me on it. You had me at the easily make $25k comment in the other thread.

Even posted about it on a single mom's forum. They love the idea of the mother child bonding time while raking in the cash.

I never said anything about driving for Uber.

It is what you were referring to with your smartphone and a car comment.

No it isn't. I was referring to selling stuff online. You need a car to get around to yard sales, flea markets, thrift shops, auctions, etc. and you need the smartphone to check values and can list items for sale as well.

What are you talking about? I made the comment about earning 25k. For some reason, you assumed I was referring to Uber and proceeded to make a series of inane posts about driving for Uber and bringing your kid.

I've never worked for Uber but I have done online sales for years. I could easily go back to it tomorrow and make 25K/year. That's what I was talking about.
