How about not insulting and making ridiculous assumptions about people with mental health conditions?

My daughter graduated in the top 10% of her high school class. She graduated college (in 4 years) with honors and earned a few scholarships along the way. She published her first novel at 18 and is in the later stages of working on her 2nd one. She has a very good job where she is highly respected and trusted.

She also has a mental health condition for which she takes medication and attends therapy. To suggest that she has a "deficit in critical thought, reason, or lacks a firm grasp on reality" couldn't be farther from the truth. If that's what you think "mental health condition" means, it may be you who lacks a grasp on reality.

Absolutely, but of course I'm sure some moron will come along and say they can't be trusted because they are government-funded.

      • Sheesh, my 92 year old dad and 86 year old step mom in Florida 1000+ miles away from all of the family are down and out with Covid now.
We siblings are hearing about it daily, but there is very little we can do to help considering the physical distance. Sounds like dad is getting better, but he's working himself to death caring for her.
Says they can't get in home care to come in because nobody want's to come get exposed to Covid.

Have similar stuff going on with a brother 1000+ miles away in Colorado dealing with cancer.
Point being .... Think twice before you go moving halfway across the country for some new lifestyle as you won't likely have much of a family or friend support network to help out if things get tough.
Seems more prudent to maintain your home base and take vacations to those far away places.

An RSV vaccine for kids will be amazing. The childrens hospitals have been overflowing with RSV patients this year. My friends in the pediatric ER are overwhelmed with all the cases they’ve seen.

              • FDA is warning not to get the flu & COVID shot at the same time due to risk of stroke, now they tell us. If I recall correctly I might have gotten one if one arm and another in another arm on the same day.

We got our flu shot and COVID bivalent booster together. Guess we won't do that next year.

I cannot find any report of this. In fact ,I still find CDC's information that, yes, you can get both vaccinations on the same day. Some Companies continue to work on bringing to market a combo vaccine for flu & covid (also one for RSV & covid).

For me, I chose to separate the three vaccines I was getting this past autumn: flu, shingles, covid. If I had any kind of unpleasant reaction, I would refer to know which one it was. So I put weeks between each of two shingles vaccines, plus one covid vaccine, plus one flu vaccine.::

Edit: Oh, you said FDA. I was looking up CDC. I'll try again, although I thought FDA more regulates stuff like purity and accurate labeling, while CDC is more into the end of formulating best practices for administering a drug.

                      • On a recent medical report for myself this is written word for word, "Mild cardiomegaly seen without significant pericardial effusion." I researched it and in layman's terms "enlarging of the heart." Hum, the COVID shot has been found to lead to something similar mostly in men called myocarditis which is an inflammation and damage to the heart. Wondering if the 4 COVID shots that I received might have something to do with this.

Infection with SARS-CoV-2 is many many times more likely to cause myocarditis than the vaccine. Not only do I believe this because many sound scientific reports show it; I believe this infection is leaps and bounds more dangerous than the vaccine because I know what viruses can do and I've studied this one for the last 3 years and it is scary. It is less scary to be infected with it now than it was in 2020 for multiple reasons, but this virus has done some wacked-out things to people (in short).

This vaccine cannot grow itself inside you for extended periods of time, it cannot infect your cells, make more of itself, travel to your heart and brain and lungs, to infect more cells, inflict more damage, turn on inflammation that might not be sufficiently turned off, leading to damage and feeling sick and blood clots and ears ringing and brain fog and loss of taste and smell and many more weird symptoms.

I've had 6 COVID shots. My teenage daughter has had 5. I lied to get a booster shot in 2021 before they were available. I lied and said my daughter was immunocompromised and she received a booster 2 weeks before she got COVID last spring. I didn't take these shots from anyone, as no one wanted shots during this time and they were set to expire and be thrown out.

Most people are immune to the current variant because of something called hybrid immunity - this means they were both infected and vaccinated, and this is causing long lived antibody responses that can actually stop multiple variants from being able to infect you. This protective immunity could last a year, or longer, and with no new variants on the horizon as of today (fingers crossed). Getting the bivalent booster months after having COVID looks like the ideal combo to really have the best immunity for protection from infection now.

                          Did you have COVID?

                          • Nope, I never got it but sounds like having both the vax and natural immunity might be the best defense against it.

                            • Well I finally caught it. Honestly I've had heartburn that was more unpleasant.

I had went on a day road trip with a coworker on Tuesday of last week. Wednesday afternoon, I attended a meeting with him, he was visibly sick. Thursday I passed him in the parking lot and was relatively fine.

Friday morning I had a slight sore throat, but went on into work. By noon I was feeling rough, and at 2pm I left to get checked out. Positive. Pretty much was extremely fatigue and light fever (101*F).

Saturday the fatigue was present, as was the fever. I had headaches (I never have headaches).

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday fatigue was light, more headaches. I walked a couple miles each day.

Today, Wednesday back at work with no issues.

Foods do taste funny. I had some honey mustard chicken tenders that tasted rancid, coke don't quite taste right.

Two others in the same building as coworker came down sick over the weekend.

I took a couple Tylenol twice a day. I had one coughing fit on Monday and took a Mucinex. Also Niquil ever evening before bed.

Sleep has been funny. Normally I go to bed around midnight. I made a point to go to bed earlier. Then I wake up a half dozen times.

Brother, you are one of the lucky ones to survive covid. Go buy a lottery ticket. You're on a winning streak.
