  • 1st dose today done. I go back on Oct 29 for my 2nd dose. No further questions were asked. Empty site (only me), other than the approx 10 workers looking at their phones, surfing the internet, etc. The workers attending to me were eager to get to work and get busy doing their jobs. The jab is on the forearm similar to where a TB test is done. Good feeling to be on my way.Click image for larger version

Good deal. The guidelines/requirements are different by county/state, same as covid was, so someone arbitrarily set "10" partners here in my county in Washington. Hopefully you have no vax hangover and can get back to business!

        • The states, cities, & counties should allow anyone who wants MKYPOX can get it like Los Angeles, rather than make it so restrictive that only a select few can get it.

As the supply improves I’m sure the availability will as well. And the more the disease spreads, the more people will want the vaccine.

            * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
            * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?

Speaking of that, I read recently (in the media!) that the mpox vaccination effort by gay males alone has significantly curbed the spread and the risk is gradually shrinking. Have you read/heard the same?

              • Zero discomfort from yesterday's shot, only a dime-sized lump on my inner forearm where the shot was placed.

                    • All the information discussed in the video above has good information explaining it. I wonder why they left out this important information? That doesn't seem like "real" reporting to me, it seems like a sensationalist half-cocked video trying to rile a certain intelligence level to garner clicks and likes.

Yale or Youtube? I choose Yale.

Yale Medicine infectious diseases doctors discuss the new Omicron-specific COVID-19 booster.

The same should apply to pneumonia vaccines.

There are pretty broad indications for the pneumonia vaccine. Everyone under 5 or 65 or older and anyone 5-64 with any medical risk factors.

                          • My health insurance company United Health recently mailed me an informational packet to get a pneumonia shot. At 56, I thought it was odd that they sent me it since I'm not over 65 yet. Also, I don't have any medical risk factors.

                            • While scheduling my appt for my 2nd dose of monkey pox for this weekend at Los Angeles county sponsored sites, I noticed most sites are offering Pfizer 1/2, Moderna 1/2, Novavax, or the bivalents of Pfizer or Moderna. It got me thinking with the variants of COVID, why even offer the old Pfizer 1/2 or Moderna 1/2. Just offer the bivalants at this stage of the game.

I believe if you are still completely unvaccinated, the recommendation is to get the primary series and then the boosters, but I'm not 100% sure as I really don't keep up with all of the details at this point.
