This is indeed an all to common feeling that I think a lot of the public holds. It's disappointing that more sources of facts, entertainment, and opinion seem to present that they're "Always right". More humility in the delivery of their messages would be a welcomed change.

I'll listen to almost anyone, I'll consider many things, but I'll very very rarely just take immediate words for gospel.

Oh Rennigade, don't you know that insider trading by members of Congress is legal? Nothing to see here folks.

The rage is a little selective, but I agree, shouldn't happen. While rennigade's agenda-based media is focusing on this, they should probably look into how Mitch McConnell, on a publicly-published senator's salary, has amassed much more wealth than his income would indicate. Fair is fair.
          History will judge the complicit.

Personally I'd love for elected & appointed officials to be required to place all financial assets into a blind trust for the duration of their public service. There's a variety of other protections that could be put into place, not the last of which should be term limits ... And none of which should allow Congresspersons to be comfortable sitting around enjoying the privilege of power.

Of course Congress would never enact a law that limited their ability to get rich off of their position & power....

A blind trust is an option; another is to restrict them to investing only via broad market index funds. Two bills restricting the ownership of stocks for members of Congress have been introduced in the past few days. Republican Josh Hawley introduced one and Democrat Angie Craig did as well. The two bills are different but are focused on the same issue. This is our opportunity to let our elected representatives know how we feel.
