+1 to that. That's why I don't even bother teaching pharmacists who are making money already. Their lifestyle and decisions have already been made. As a frat guy once said, "got to catch them while they are young."

I agree with Texas. The rare, and I mean rare, times we actually find someone who listens or wants to hear it I get excited. I shared that on here recently. it's the same reason I quit working with that financial advisement company. All that work going to people's houses and trying to convince them why they need life insurance and to prepare for the future, get out of debt, etc. and then watch them do a 180 six months later and get deeper in debt with consumer mess.

All we can do is try and hope for the best. Just remember most don't want to listen now, but if you leave a good impression (not a jerk about it and pushy) then one day they likely will wake up and want help. They will remember you(and this site).
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you're stupid and make bad choices.

So wait - she wants to DO taxes for people but needs help understanding basic financial management? Mmmmkay, I'd just steer clear of her. Sounds more like she's angling to get you as a client, but whatever she's up to, it probably isn't anything good.

          Financial Advice from Personal Finance

I have no regrets with my financial life since all my past mistakes have been immensely important. Each stumble (or downright faceplant) leads to me learning something new. Sadly, the pain and emotional stress means the lesson is ingrained in my mind.

Now, I’m taking a proactive approach by trying to learn from the mistakes of others! 🙂

I give advice. Whether they listen is another story. Better to lead by example and say I am saving for X, Y, Z.
