    If they ask for my opinion, i would tell them the truth.

    BUT i don't preach people like "we're above them" people find that very distasteful and somewhat elitist.

      Probably useless to tell him the truth, he already knows it: he can see it on his bank account at the end of each month.

        People like her think "if I had a million dollars in investment like Disneysteve here, I would totally lease two 90k Range Rovers". The fact that her bank account is empty and still thinks the car is reasonable will just get her eyes to roll when someone like us say "oh this 50k car is out of our budget".


        The truth is, it's out of HER budget according to OUR standards. Due to our way of saving, no car is technically out of our budget in the eyes of normal people. People on this forum having 1mil+ NW for a reason.

          What a great statement!

          Lots of people simply don't comprehend that. They see someone who has a bunch of money in savings and figure, "Oh, it must be nice to have money like that." It never occurs to them that there's a good reason why they have that money.
