    Bit of a hassle, but if you are done with new credit outside of known situations (planning enough ahead) that probably is the best way to avoid identity theft. You can just as easily call each bureau and have it unlocked when you knew you wanted to do something with it.

      Reposting this since it's tax time again. Another good use of this is for meeting bank account bonuses direct deposit requirement, government payments
