The Great Resignation now becoming The Great Hesitation. Companies are now hesitant to hire due to having to train someone new who probably left a previous job and will possibly leave again at this new job. It's no longer your grand-father's career where he worked at 1 company his entire life.

That goes both ways. There is no longer any obligation of loyalty unless it's specifically written into a contract. I think it's been that way for quite a while - at least since my father retired. After more than 25 years with the same company, he was laid off via a voicemail. Companies reap what they sow.

This is insanely stupid policy on the part of corporate decision makers. Simply because something makes financial sense, it doesn't necessarily make moral sense or excuse corporate managers from their ethical obligations.

I agree. I don't think this is a new issue at all. Companies have been treating employees like crap for at least the past couple of decades. Working hard and showing dedication is no longer a key to success or longevity with a company. As soon as one of their number crunchers figures out a way to replace you for 25 cents less per hour, you're out the door.
If employers don't want to hire someone who left a previous job, who exactly do they expect to hire? Other than new graduates just out of school, anybody coming to work there will he leaving another job. My daughter graduated college in 2018 and is now at her 3rd job in 4 years. That's pretty normal behavior today.

* Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
* Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
* There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.
Main stream news like CNBC...thats your first mistake. Believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see.
In principle I agree with Rennigade that much of what is reported in the news can be biased, and I agree with ua_guy that specifics would be helpful for this discussion.
