  • Sounds like this is going to be an execellent holiday season --> record breaking

All news points to a great holiday season. May even be record breaking!

Oh heck, even my contractor raised prices from his estimates just a few months ago (we are remodelling our house right now) because labor is more expensive.

It looks like good market performance in the near term.

    What do you think?

It's a sign the end is near!!!! Trump won the presidency and people are spending too much money. Doom and gloom!

lol, Have no idea what it means other than people are comfortable spending money right now.
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you're stupid and make bad choices.

People are comfortable spending this season. Which means, many of them are comfortable taking on credit card debt. Not sure that's a good thing.

Unemployment is the lowest it's been in years. The stock market is hitting a record high every day. The economy is doing well and people are spending as a result. That's pretty much it.

As investors and business owners, now is a wonderful time. Imagine, just a few years ago in 2009?, our government was giving away money (which, of course, excluded high-ish earners as usually the case) to stimulate the economy. Here, we have an economy that's very stimulating all by itself (ok, kind of).

Now is a great time to do everything. Even if you fail, it isn't all that hard to recover. Hints for the new investors.

Lots of things are possible in a good economy; although the jobs are a bit strange (lacking in solid manufacturing jobs with stable , long term depth and pensions/retirement health care). But hey, the only thing that's constant is change, right?

            I'm not seeing it here.

I have a general rule of no malls/big stores from Thanksgiving to after New Years unless I'm going middle of the day, during the week.

But so far since Thanksgiving I'm seeing lots of available parking spaces in store lots that are generally overflowing by now. And a friend (who shops way too much) is saying the same thing. Plus we're both noticing that unless you're looking for a big-ticket item, the deals just aren't there.

Hopefully it will be a good year for retailers.

You know, I noticed the same thing when shopping this season. I don't remember the stores being so empty. I'm wondering, could it be that much buying online? Or maybe the news (which was just based on early reports) are off.

But, yes, let's hope for a good season. --> it'll mean good things for everybody.
