GoodSteward, maybe you and your wife are still very young or work with people who are still very young and have not gotten used to the fact that they are adults. I think the habit of calling each other girls and guys could still be lingering from high school. If they begin to refer to themselves and each other as men and women rather than as guys and girls, it might be just a drop in the ocean toward them being able to organize their thoughts and speech as adults. In the work world, it is time to put away the things of childhood.
Better not mention on any threads here, where you work (It's in IT, is it?), because you are giving testimony toward a discrimination lawsuit.
