  • Can You Get Free Insurance?

    Hi Guys,

I was on the phone with GEICO taking care of some documentation relating to a minor fender bender I was in and it occurred to me: is there a way to get free insurance?

I am not talking about falsifying paperwork or taking out a policy and then not paying - I am asking about legitimate ways to get insurance for free.

Anybody heard of this? Can it be done?

Even in the Nanny State of California, there's no free car insurance. There is a program for low income people that caps the annual premium at no more than $388. I've heard that a few other states have similar programs, but not free.

Depends on the type of insurance. Work for the military...no health insurance premiums there.

A lot of companies provide life insurance as a job benefit so that's kind of free.

Not exactly free auto insurance but if you get involved with one of those car wrap advertising firms, you can make money by driving your car and use that money to pay your insurance bill.

          Request your citizenship be removed?

I believe that is the new way to financial freedom in this country. Come to America, but don't be a citizen. Everything is free!!

Are you asking specifically about car insurance?

If so, one option is to not own a car. Live some place where walking, biking, or public transportation are viable options.

On the occasions when you do need a car, rent one using a credit card that provides rental car insurance. Voila, free car insurance.

I was being goofy, but this is actually an intelligent answer for occasional use. Great idea!
