I believe we've likely saved $695

"Citing Trump’s Order, IRS Stops Enforcing Individual Mandate for Health Insurance"
Trump Signed an Executive Order and the IRS is going to honor it but not to the extent of the heading above.
IRS is not forcing taxpayers to disclose whether they carried medical insurance the prior year(s) on our tax returns.
BUT...they can inquire then issue a penalty because the Individual Mandate is still law.
To add my husband to my workplace plan last year was $425 a mo. and it was really just catastrophic coverage.
I could've gotten an HSA but I had alot of Chiropractic needed so passed on it since the other plan provided for it at $15 a visit
This year I'll go that route since my company donates $160 a month to it. He still won't have health insurance but some funds to use for medical care
This year for both of us- I bought an accident policy that pays a set amount$$ for certain issues that arise, no matter how the bill was paid.
Plus a critical illness policy, life insurance, dismemberment, & dental insurance. All for under $70.
Interesting we can afford all of these plans but not typical medical insurance for him (unless I stop contributing to the 401k)
