      There is also money being sent out by colleges from the CARES Act. Colleges could apply for and receive money due to Covid. Half of what they receive has to get distributed to the students. Each school decides what the distributions are based on. I know of a few colleges that have already sent this money out too.

        Yep my son applied and got $1,000. When I first read about it I thought you needed to be a needy student, or have qualified for the Pell Grant. Nope it was just free money at his college for anyone who asked. 1K was the max you could get. The neighbor boy applied and got it and told me DS so he did applied and got it too. My DD at another school tried to get it and was declined, her school had more stringent rules about it being for need so she didn't qualify cause she's not a Pell grant recipient.

        I also heard an ad on the radio today for a community college in our area that said buy 3 credits, get 3 credits free. I guess they are feeling the low enrollment and are trying to lure the kids back. I wish the main university would do that!!
