Off hand, you'll be hated by many and probably asked to stop.

Then again, it depends on what type of office?
I have a private office, so if I close my door, I can play music. But I don't play music; first it interferes with my work, second (even if I like it) it sends an unprofessional message.

I prefer listening music through my personal phone, offices have a strict decorum so we can't really expect them to play any sort of music.

I don't like music playing in the office, for many reasons.

First, when it it the radio, it's usually songs that I've heard hundreds of times. Add in annoying radio "personalities" and endless commercials, and I'm ready for the sharpened pencils up the nostrils suicide.

Second, people usually hum or sing along. Fine if you're an elf in Santa's workshop, but not in an office environment.

Third, my musical tastes are not considered mainstream. Not that I can't enjoy other music, but I get into the zone with certain music nobody else will play.

Therefore, I use an old ipod loaded with music I like, and I plug in my headphones.

I don't think it's a good idea, because some do not like music while they are working. For me, there are times that i listen to music but there are also times when i just want to concentrate and don't want to hear any noise.
